Welcome to our newest Scientific Director
We’re delighted to give Mike Musialowski a warm welcome in his new role as Scientific Director at HealthCare21. In joining our ever-growing and uniquely-talented anti-infectives editorial team, Mike returns to his academic roots in microbiology and antimicrobials.
Mike brings a wealth of experience gained from his academic career as a microbiologist. With a first-class degree from the University of Leeds and a doctorate from the University of Cambridge, he has held post-doctoral fellowships in antibiotic biosynthesis research and a lectureship in biotechnology at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He also has an R&D background in commercial development of rapid antimicrobial detection and identification screens.
In addition, Mike has 23 years of experience within the medical communication and pharmaceutical industries. Specialising in medical education and communications across a number of therapeutic areas, he has supported some of the pharma industry’s most successful brands whilst working for several leading international communication agencies.
He also has a track record as a pharma marketing expert, having worked for AstraZeneca in key communication roles, most notably as a Global Brand Manager during the launch of the megabrand statin, Crestor™. More recently, much of his communications experience has been gained working with leading expert clinicians in ground-breaking medical education initiatives, covering bacterial, fungal and viral infectious disease.
